Max Payne 3 was to be released last year in 2011, but the company Rockstar Games decided that they wanted the game to be absolutely perfect for there gaming fans out there – so the game was put back to this May 2012.

About the game:

Max begins a new life in Sao Paulo, Brazil, working in the private security sector protecting a wealthy industrialist family. When the family come’s under attack from gangs, Max does what he does best to protect the family, clear his name and to rid once and for all the memories that still haunt him from losing his loved ones from the past.

The game utilizes cutting edge technology for a seamless, cinematic action experience, incorporating the latest advances in Natural Motion physics and a brand new iteration of Rockstar’s own Rockstar Advanced Game Engine. 12 years after the events of Max Payne 2, Max ends up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where security work is fruitful but the risks are very high. Murder and betrayal dog his every step, and once again, Max is thrown deep into the heart of a brutal city with nothing but his weapons and his instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out there.

Max Payne, the gaming’s most world weary cop is back – although he’s not quite the man you may remember. It’s been six years since Max Payne 2 and Max is now working down in Brazil, employed as personal security for a wealthy local family.

Max swaps the dark streets of New York for the bright sunshine (and dangerous slums) of Sao Paulo. Despite such radical changes the third person action will still be familiar, including the series’ famous use of The Matrix style bullet time.

Of course bullet time is no longer the novelty it once was, so here it’s evolved to not just slow down time but allow you to perform special moves while everyone else is stuck in slow motion. There’s also a new cover system and one of the most interactive environments ever seen in a game. The old Max Payne is gone, the new one should be even better.

Founded as Barking Dog Studios in 1998, this Canadian developer worked on the sequel to Homeworld and Valve’s Counter-Strike before being acquired by Rockstar in 2002. Since then they’ve create the controversial Bully (aka Canis Canem Edit) and the new Max Payne 3.
